Become an instant Education revolutionary with this easy thought experiment

May 21, 2015

In my thought experiment we start by lumping public libraries, the printing press, radio, television and the internet into one group then we call it Education. These are our media, this is wherefrom human beings get everything they know.

We then take popular concepts (or misconceptions) from each method and apply them to other methods in the group.

This allows us to get rid of all the weird cultural assumptions we make about these very similar forms of acquiring knowledge.

For example:

Lots of people believe there is a magical rule almost as if handed down by god that says television is suppose to be full of entertainment. It must absolutely contain nothing that would allow the viewer to sustain himself. When searching for work television may not contribute to your expertise. Television exist for the purpose of distributing advertisement messages, propaganda and to denounce politicians.

We then simply apply this “logic” to other means of information distribution. (here considered “Education”) We could quite easily build schools by that same line of reasoning and rate it by counting viewers and selling products.

Every step along the way people expected public libraries, the printing press, radio, television and the internet to have a much greater influence on education than it actually had. If the public library really revolutionized our knowledge the internet should be making everyone into a professor. Safe to say there is a lot more going on than we can anticipate. The repetition of the assumption suggests that the way things work are not obvious even after the dream doesn’t materialize.

If some of us like to visit a sooth sayer we might think it ridiculous we wont actively try to prevent them going there. Most people who go there understand the perspective from those who do not. Even if a huge percentage of the population would go there every day there is no reason to replace any kind of Education with sooth saying.

A library could interrupt your reading for “these commercial messages” the same way we do with radio. If this seems like a terrible idea (it certainly does) are we referring to interrupting Education for advertisement messages or is the library now a kind of holy ground? We don’t get furious because we are all used to radio in the current format. This same kind of conditioning would work in libraries. In one or two generations people simply wouldn’t know better. If you want to hear uninterrupted music you can play CD’s, if you want to read you can take the book home.

Play with the thought experiment, it should provide valuable insights however you transplant ideas from one branch of Education to another you should run into many great and terrible ideas and the medium should never be an excuse for or against it.

The reasons why we think advertisement should be tolerated are not exclusive to any Education medium.

Envision it!

Without advertisement we would all be standing there in the supermarket looking at another dumbfounded, not knowing what to purchase. On the edge of starvation we would all follow the old lady who still remembers what kind of products to buy. You would look at products on ebay not knowing what they are for – if it wasn’t for advertisement. All those giant databases with your every personal detail would be worthless without the means to constantly harass people with advertisement messages. The economy would collapse and we would find ourselves in a nuclear war within days – if not hours!

Or maybe thats not what would happen. Maybe that friendly stranger offering you to buy drugs is not being helpful and not a desirable component in Education. Maybe, neither the other friendly drug pusher on tv, the guy selling socks, the other nice people selling other consumer items etc etc There are not a lot of jobs that require you to be an experienced watcher of advertisement. Most would involve pushing marketing messages but there will always be catalogs to fill, products to present, etc etc But lets not forget that making the product is important too! We can’t have selling the product eating into the making of it. The way we are pushing people out of innovation and production into unemployment downscales civilization in more than one way while it also prevents them from buying things.

Rather than endorse it you should willfully fill your head with irrelevant nonsense the way you want to. When you do you should be actively engaged in it – with intend. If you want to “enrich” your memory with all the Pokemon, every wrestler, every sports team and crazy blog posts like the one here that should be up to you. Force-feeding my ideas into your head…. now that, we should agree, sounds truly terrifying. No doubt I could have you pretend to be a chicken and have you sing the national anthem backwards. Then I could sell you to the circus.

But I prefer to see all the humans on the same team, It works for me, I’m more romantic that way. You are not a product to be made and sold but if you were we should try to make you into something useful and valuable.

If we lack trained professionals in health care it should be acceptable to train people to be doctors by all means available to us. If that is what we need we cant have other things take priority over that without being widely illogical and suicidal.

Perhaps the simple solution would be to rate library books, radio shows, television programs and (possibly) even internet websites by intellectual power level then require different licenses to promote such materials. Every additional lvl 1 show on the Tee Vee could require an exponentially more expensive license. The cheapest variety (perhaps even subsidiced) would be to make nothing but overly intellectual programs that follow the curriculum live while it happens in universities. A program for the “tiny” audience of chemists and those dreaming of becoming one. Everyone else can feel appropriately dumb looking at it which will do miracles in self education.

Our television producers are sophisticated enough to create an audience for such program in that exact same way they’ve created untrained people to watch their programs for untrained people. We didn’t end up enjoying south park just like that, it required many years of highly stupefying mass media to appreciate jokes about the same. While intensely amusing it isn’t like it is so funny that we don’t need doctors anymore. We can be amused just as effectively by things that inspire us.

paper view

November 15, 2005

Advertising is a big industry, we can use add supported services, we can earn money by having others click on our adds, we can even earn money with viewing adds in some programs.

I like to think “free” means something sucks. I sure know great free services but if they offer a payed product it almost always is better as..

I also think the person viewing the adds is doing the work. An add powered service may appear free, in reality they earn add revenue. This may or may not be more as enough it doesn’t matter, it’s still the viewers money in the developers pocket. I figure we are old enough to buy our own things? We are more as capable to judge and pay what things cost.

Now that made me think… “What if free things could be dramatically improved by charging a small fee?”

I imagine a blog posting could cost money. 50 cent or 2 € for posting it – that would be something I could afford.

I imagine a page stuffed with advertisement would be acceptable if the viewer earns money by viewing it.

– just the 2 ideas so far would mean A Blogger has to visit 3-20 blogs to earn back his posting. I would be even more motivated to view the new posts knowing the bloggers payed to post em.

I imagine a comment could cost 10 cent? Why not? It sounds like it makes sense? no?

If a comment would cost 5 € I would expect a serious reply? If that doesn’t appear others can see how it doesn’t. Deleting a comment should return the credit to it’s owner.

Google questions works some whut like that but that community is build from people in the mood to be helped or in the mood to be payed.

For bloggers it would only present some means to be taken more seriously.

I can’t help but think that a lot of people would be happy to earn a few coins by viewing your blog. Just imagine earning 20 cents by reading this posting. That would be fun! (Google makes around 5$ for each search result you view)

Not-free could also mean getting payed for writing posts. I’ve seen programs offer 300 000 articles about almost any subject, reading those mass generated writings gave me the shivers. It was cold and death-boring content, really scary! So, I figure paying to post and earning by reading could be a formula. Greedy people can shut up and serious questions can be answered.

For example:
Say it costs 2$ per post, we only have 10 adds per page, and a page view earns 20 cent.

20 cent divided by 10 adds is 2 cent. 2$ divided by 2 cents is 100 adds.

For the add we make a short introduction of our post, possibly with a small image. Then the viewer earns 2 cent for viewing your add and makes another 20 cent by clicking it.

We are not in a hurry so the 100 adds could take a few months to run out. That way the service can create a buffer to balance out the flow.

The advertisers have already payed you 2 cent, you don’t need to click their add. Still if you want you can.

This way it would be easy to store the add-click history and make it search-able for the user.

Building a safe payment system is so hard that filtering out automated surfers before payday is relatively easy. A few simple questions like “click the green dot” will do the trick. If human verification is slow it will happen more often. Posting a comment should be proof enough of being a real person. If the cash balance is low we also ask less questions. If you earn 20 bucks per day you will have to view the pages a bit longer and click few more dots. On the other hand, a user spending more as he earns should not have to do reality check ups.

Some bloggers have far to little to eat, other bloggers have far to few readers for the size of their budget.

Sure, people will create sweat shops to read our blogs. Do we really care? I love the idea people could make a living by reading this shit I write. That would rock the banana boat.

A friend of mine called it a service for rich snobs. I think she forgot we are the rich snobs on this planet. So, lets get your fat lazy ass into the comment box and write a few words for our sweat shoppers. You are obviously not willing to pay them 2 cent each, the least you can do is make a fool out of yourselves here. 😀

we are the internet

November 10, 2005

Sure, I’m a lunatic

I do research but I develop nothing (except a few blogs ok-ok) this is giving me a really strange advantage over actual developers. To make things worse I’ve looked closer at most of their competitors and have a user perspective of their creation.

Then on one side we have young people who didn’t get a chance to see how things use to work because they didn’t exist back then (that should make sense). On the other side we have the older developers with their more static way of looking at things. Neither of those have any future in tech because the first is reinventing old shit and the second doesn’t have the energy for it.

Companies are obligated to protect their investors, this effectively means they cant make new stuff because it involves risks that investors are just not willing to take. The company can be forced by law to keep focus on recent activity’s and take things one step at a time. One step at a time means we are not able to take leaps forward of any kind.

I may rant and flame a lot at least I’m honest. The problem of not being able to digest what I say or write is all in the ear of the beholder. I will never say you’re doing great if you’re not.

We are the Internet! My blog isn’t the most popular in the world and I really don’t give a fuck. What I write can only be found here. No-one else can write what I write because I say so.

I hope you lack the brain to see the misery on this planet. If you do see it it’s effectively as much your fault as mine. You are to blame for it as much as I am.

Now WTF was that all about?

Google Microsoft yahoo etc etc they are all running after us. What we want we will get (if it’s possible) They are looking for value but cant grasp the simple things that would be the most valuable to this world. Their food needs to be pre chewed before they eat it.People are dieing all over the world and it’s not even necessary in most cases.

Bill Gates did one good deed in his life after people started to publicly hate speech and piss-pie him. He had his way to expensive advisor’s look for the best charity. It ended up in medical research.

Meanwhile Google news doesn’t have Environment news but does do Sports. Google obviously doesn’t care about any of us. WTF is health? An ego trip? It talks about bird flue, thats Environment to. Entertainment news? Are you fucking kidding? You have THE NEWS and THE ENTERTAINMENT you google freaks.

If I would make a news website I would put the Wether on it as well? huh? I didn’t invent this, people expect the weather on their news bulletin as well as changes in the ENVIRONMENT. If that doesn’t show they lack vision I don’t know what does? The rest of the site is all machine generated. They run after “what people like” blindly. Like mad man! And without care. WTF google LETS DO EAVOL? Just give us the money?

Bill Gates(our god of marketing) didn’t understand the marketing part of his own research. We all know that 95% of windows vista will be pure profit. What % of my money is going into global health care Billy? I actually don’t give a fuck about your OS it will probably suck but if it had a label “%20 of this product is used for developing medication.” I would be willing to have a look at it. I mr Bill cant get his head around that one I’m pretty sure it’s all down to crazy people like me now.

You don’t want to sell me death stick, you want to go home and re-consider your life.

Freelance your blog skills

October 31, 2005

People will hate your blog if you don’t get it right. 😆

Besides from being to lazy to do anything I have a perfect picture of how you makes professional blogs happen.

The quality content you need requires lots of work. If the work is un-cool you will hate doing it. 😆 This means you need to find a commercial subject in the second place and a fun subject in the first. Only make a porn blog if you’re a pervert.

The hard part is finding the right kind of sponsor. Clicks on advertisement does not go anywhere as fast as selling Mercedes.

Find businesses that make money around your fun subjects. If no one is making money with something related to your hobby you need to look again because your doing something wrong. Open the eyes maybe.

You imagine what kind of people buy their type of products. What information are they looking for on the web? Then you make a new blog and create 5 posts in it. The title of the posts should explain what information is inside the post. For this text here a “Freelance your blog skills” would be ok.

For the first page view it doesn’t matter if the post sucks. Only the title makes the visitor view the posting. Only good content will get your visitor to visits your blog again.

Then you can already contact the businesses and just ask them if they want your blog to be part of their website. You just move your blog to a sub-domain of their business site.

Don’t hesitate to make jokes about them just having a phone number and items for sale. 99% of those sites offers no fresh & interesting content.

Make some trial deal, use your own money to buy google ad words. Advertise your blog for free on related sites. Then work like a slave day and night to write a (draft) post about every single subject your blog could have a post about.

What are the customers looking to accomplish?

You don’t need to help them at all, just make a soap like adventure about yourself trying to find out how to answerer your own questions. “as I was looking for Mercedes desktop themes I found the following sites….bla bla….” But keep updating that post! One day the post will list all Mercedes-desktop-theme-sites on the web.

A sexy way to obtain mass traffic of the right kind is by searching for questions people ask in forums. Write a good reply in your blog and give them a link like here:

http://www.bloggerforum.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=8648&forum=10

Getting extra cash, traffic and work true referal programs is cool but their banners and links back look nasty and you do have to promote them. You advertise a the program without adding a link to it. In stead offer a link to more information.Thats the WIN-WIN combo!

• You need whole articles to support your referral programs. + They are never good enough, NEVER!

• The “selling products” is the pipe dream of the formula.

• What you need is a lot of successful referrals under you.

putting their name in the box “to be your referral” is one thing, they won’t make a cent from just doing that. Just like you wont! 😆 Say you have a fairly ordinary blog like this one:

http://usavisa.blogspot.com
(This is one of my test blogs)

If you visit and click around a bit like a real visitor. You will spot a little 468 banner where I advertise a blog with all of those referral articles.

So, you make a blog about making money ayou may advertise it by your own TOS! Anything goes! (well almost) did you ever make money online? See any referral links in that? “nope non” Do you expect to see any on the page? “yes, lots with lots of info”. It’s the least annoying. on http://categories.blogspot.com Non of the banners rotating make me any cash. You can just click em, it’s ok. 🙂

I can participate in a whole lot of referral programs and advertise them properly. BUT I will never have to stalk people who are not interested! I was using the smallest adds and they made me angry as they are just as distracting as the big kind.

The whole separate blog is a winner formula. If you want me to do something, give me a whole page about how I’m going to do this and make it look half good. Don’t put to much effort in it, we will hate you for that, it’s just for cleaning up the original blog and for nothing else, well almost. 😆 We want a clean blog but we also want to keep the door open for traffic and cash making programs.

quote: RobbD3
What is the proper etiquette when it comes to using affiliate links on your blog or in message forums?

Lets see you investigate this in a that blog.

Should they always be labeled as such?

YES!

Are there times when it is O.K. to use an affiliate link without telling your audience that it is an affiliate link?

NO! You are looking for loving and caring referrals. 😆

I am kind of on the fence on this one. In some cases your credibility can take a hit because your entire post that has the affiliate link may be viewed as an ad.

Then stop the denial and make it so.

In other cases you may not care if the link is an affiliate link or not because going to the URL in the link is the reason for reading the post in the first place.

lol, you could add popups to links so they look as if they are part of the site linked to. You can expect me to remove all links to you the moment I find out. It’s like comming over for a beer and pulling out a vacuum cleaner and start selling it to me. Yeah, you may succeed but who cares? Why not ask me if you can show the machine and say some things about it first.

I figure it would be fun to see the lot of blog publishers make a lot of money to. I’m gonna go figure it all out for all of you. I don’t really care if you become my referral, I’m just looking for readers and this appears a popular topic. 😎
